I watched some of Kelly's press conference yesterday. He sounded like he thought highly of Fisch and was planning on keeping him around. I know their offensive philosophies don't exactly match, but it makes sense to keep Jed for at least a season for continuity and recruiting reasons. Would you rather live in State College or LA?

The weak point of Kelly's offenses, both at Oregon and in the NFL, has been his simplistic passing game. Fisch seems like a perfect fit to help with that if he's willing to be more or less the "passing game coordinator" like he was at Michigan. And if Fisch isn't offered an appealing HC job this year, it will certainly help his resume to spend a year or two with an offensive guru like Kelly.

oh how I hope this is true and might make him leave PSU eventually himself so that program suffers more than they've had to after all the BS they allowed for so many years.

But besides that, this looks like a nice hire for MS. ST. and I hope he gives Saban all the hell he deserves.

Have to give credit where it is due and psu had the best QB in the big ten. If he is leaving and moorhead they won't be a tough out and we will be returning the ass whoopin. I personally feel we should and will be undefeated next year so I had us beating them anyways, but they surely are not going to be as good. Is there QB leaving also?.

Not just finding a new OC, but getting one as good or almost s good who runs a similar offense. Changing the system would be a bigger setback than losing Barkley to NFL.

I have a loose rule that you can tell a lot about sports moves and decisions (on and off the field) by how opponents feel about them. For example, if a team is going for it on fourth down against us, am I excited, or do I wish they would kick a field goal instead?

This is a good barometer for coaches and personnel choices as well.

It speaks highly of Moorhead, and not-so-highly of Franklin, that the B1G response to Moorhead leaving the conference is one of immense relief.

I look forward to the PSU faithful eating their young next year.  I've always gotten a sense that PSU fans are not huge fans of Franklin as a coach, and any excuse to get back on him after a good couple of years won't be too hard.

This kind of embarrasses Tennessee, too, as some commentators have pointed out. Tennessee still doesn't have a coach. Mississippi State may have struck gold here; the nice thing about them (as opposed to a top-line SEC school) is that it's good enough to say "may have." Tennessee wants a top 10 - level sure thing and might wind up with nothing.

Michigan will be fine. I was watching MM highlights and the high school QB's could make better throws than JOK and I am 100% serious. No OC will look good with almost zero at QB. That is flat out the reality that Michigan was working with.

That shit is in the past and I don't care who has what because Michigan is going to be a buzzsaw from now on, and teams better just flat out plan on a big L for the Michigan game. And that isn't homer bullshit either. If Michigan fields a decent and consistent O line this team will erase all the bad memories with a quickness.

I see all the naysayers, like Fineslaum scurrying for there holes because I can see what is coming down the tracks and it has a Big M on it. You guys will love all our coaches next year. We will actually have a QB and a better O line and that is all we need. The rest of the team is tops or close in the country.

When is the last time we had all big ten lineman. Lets go offense. As far as I am concerned the only two playing up to snuff are Owenu and Ruiz because he was a freshman and will at least be all big ten barring injuries. Bredeson needs to pick up his play or he can go sit on the bench as far as I am concerned. He better look out for Filiaga who is a mountain. I think Hudson will be one of the starting tackles and a good one.

Sorry about going out there but we are a good O-line away from a NC and I get a little excited. Still pissed we were so handicapped this year.

Bottom line is we have one of the best coaching staffs and with better O-line play and a quality college level QB you won't want any changes.
