Did anyone see a bright flash of light followed by a loud boom? I believe it was a Meteor

I saw it. I was outside in Birmingham and the sky lit up behind me. I turned in time to see the fireball just as it exploded. I went back inside about 4 minutes later and that's when the sonic boom hit us. It shook the house for a moment. My wife asked if it was thunder. I said I don't think so, I think I just saw a meteor explode. I did some research and found out sound travels roughly 13 miles per minute through the atmosphere, so I guessed the meteor came down roughly 50 miles to my west. My calculations were not too shabby as NASA is now saying it came down near Howell, Michigan, which is southeast of Lansing. They are also estimating the meteor was about one meter wide, which is pretty fucking big! They believe it's likely that pieces of it survived the explosion and are on the ground in that area. It would be super cool--and valuable--if somebody found a piece of it.

Very bright flash followed by a loud boom in Romulus. Shook the entire neighborhood here actually. I was late to the party on the flash, but my neighbor actually caught it on video as he was outside scraping the driveway and had the kindness to send it to me. Very cool indeed.

Loud boom/explosion for sure, rumbling when I was walkin' the dog. Didn't see any light flash here in Oakland. Thanks for the explanation.

My girlfriend's parents in Clarkston saw it and heard it. There was even a video from Clarkston posted to twitter.

and the flash of light was behind us. My youngest daughter asked what it was and I thought it was a transformer exploding (much like most everyone else did, it appears). Turns out half of Metro Detroit was raptured.  Who knew?
