Moe Wagner articles on being hated by opposing fans & playing Spurs at 17 yrs old
Thought these were both interesting articles. The first talks about how Wagner matches up to Krutwig, and how he embraces being hated by opposing fans. The 2nd is from a local San Antonio site and talks about he got to play the Spurs with his club team as a 17 year old when they travelled to Germany, which would have to have been an incredible experience in high school.

The best players are often the ones you would hate if they were on any other team. As long as you're not being an actual dick (Grayson Allen), it's all in good fun.
I hope Sister Jean is ready to see some mean mugging.

I think that's how we all felt about Bill Laimbeer, just as one example here - he was loved here in Detroit and detested, even reviled by every other fanbase and if you were on the side that loved him you embraced the collective hate of everyone else.
Anybody remember the SNES game, "Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball"? The best team was 5 Bill Laimbeer robots.

The link has video of that game, including the infamous block as well as the celebration (of course, Moe was the first off the bench).

- Wagner helps Michigan win the 2018 National Championship.
- Wagner returns to Michigan for his senior season, becomes an All-America, wins B1G PotY, and helps Michigan repeat as National Championships.
Bill Lambeer was a cheap shot artist and dirty player. He helped ruin basketball for a number of years until they outlawed thuggery in the paint. He epitomized the sparty thug basketball style that this blog reviles so much.

The element people hate here is Sparty, not a tough, no prisoners approach. If Sparty played exactly like Michigan does, we'd find a way to hate them for that, too. Meanwhile, Laimbeer is a Pistons legend, and there's a lot of Pistons fans on this forum..
The hate for Moe is ramped up Tuesday morning. It will just make the love of him that much greater!!!!
Hail to the Victors!
