Getting tickets for this one!
The World Cup ends 2 weeks before this game. If anybody is good enough to play internationally (for a nation in the World Cup, that is), they are not going to be in the game, except for maybe a cameo from a couple of the biggest stars.
There's some buzz that Real wants him, so be forewarned.
Even if he stays, a lot of star players sit out these summer promotional tours, er, International Champions' Cups.
I'd put the chances of him actually suiting up for Liverpool in the Big House under 50%.
Anyone have any opinions on whether or not it would be cheaper to buy tickets up front or would it be cheaper to wait and try to get some via the secondary market? I'm just not sure what the demand is like for these soccer games.
The big stars may not play but you have two big fan bases of two top 10 clubs (in the 6 to 10 range) that are natural league rivals. So it will sell out unless the ticket prices change from the traditional $50 to $200 range.
Liverpool being in the Champions League semis and the World Cup certainly will also help spark interest for the more casual fan. Local cub soccer activity is very high so again there will be lots of parents taking kids... and Dad can buy beer!
I'd get tickets up front at whatever level you are comfortable paying. I've enjoyed lower priced, south endzone, up in the corner tickets for both games buying 8 tickets up front and if I couldn't use them was able to sell them easily.
The dude is so animated. It's a trip.
He might be a bit subdued because it is a friendly, but he seems like a guy who just can't turn it off.
Edit: Crap triple post. I guess I'm a bit too animated myself.
Just got Fifa 2017 on the ps4 and they accurately make Klopp real animated like in real-life it's awesome.
Between Klopp and Conte.
By that I just mean they're both very... hyper during games.
Although TBH I've missed most the Chelsea games so not sure if Conte is animated or deflated lately.

Glory, Glory Man United!
To everyone saying the stars won't play because it's a World Cup year, that isn't necessarily true.
4 years ago Man U and Real Madrid played almost all of their stars during a World Cup year. Even a previously injured Ronaldo came off the bench for a cameo. The atmosphere was electric that day.
2 years ago, which was of course not a WC year, Real Madrid sat most of their stars, but Chelsea played pretty much their entire starting lineup of what ended up being a title winning season.
These are two huge rivals. I imagine we will see the big names for a half unless their teams go deep in the WC.
Just beware of the Scousers walking around town that weekend.
I'd bet the vast majority of fans of both teams present that day will be North Americans. British fans get plenty of chances to see them at home.
I wonder if people think I don't like soccer (please see avatar and posting history and also that I have written about UM soccer for a few years).

Fast-kicking, low-scoring, and ties? You bet!
