Go Blue!!
January 7th, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
Great effort, but came up short. Morris stoned us again

Go Blue!
January 7th, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
ND just had a goal waived off.
January 7th, 2018 at 3:26 PM ^
A bullet there.
January 7th, 2018 at 3:32 PM ^
Chris Cuthbert on the call! Never imagined we'd ever get that kind of weight behind the mic. My all-time second favorite hockey announcer behind Bob Cole.
January 7th, 2018 at 10:40 PM ^
No Jim Hughson? Bowen? Even Gary Thorne? To each his own, I guess. Rick Peckham?...Sorry, just needed one more.
January 8th, 2018 at 12:14 AM ^
Never been a fan of Hughson, and I've tried. I honestly don't understand how he gets the high-profile stuff. Thorne was good in his prime but a step below, couldn't hold up to the Canadian guys or to Doc.
Cuthbert is sharp, professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about the game. He uses his voice well and calls the games crisply. He meets the moments of the games he calls perfectly.
His calls of the 03 Wings-Canucks series were epic. The vague Canadian homerism (with a dash of Steve Yzerman admiration) made it all the more perfect.
Sides, who cares? I'm not even pretending to offer an objective list, just a subjective one of my favorites. Though in-his-prime Cole should rate highly on any list.

Was on more often.
January 7th, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
I hate the NBC Notre Dame Propoganda, but thank god we at least get a game on actual TV for crying out loud.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:01 PM ^
Doing a pretty good job pumping Michigan during the game, though. Even the Sparty color guy. When you have announcers who care about the sport, know it, and are good at integrating their passion into the broadcast (a key skill that differentiates between insightful guys and guys who sound like they're reading for a script, even if they're actually really sharp) you get good stuff.
January 7th, 2018 at 3:58 PM ^
This seems like almost the exact opposite of Friday night. Right now, ND is getting far more opportunities than us, but is somehow not winning.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:06 PM ^
is this the camera angle they always use?
January 7th, 2018 at 4:16 PM ^
Yes. Not bad and not unusual for college rinks. Yost's camera position is stranger, honestly.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:16 PM ^
on a decent breakaway. 1-0 ND
January 7th, 2018 at 4:19 PM ^
We gotta do better than this...
All the same.... nice to have puck on TV.
Go Blue!
January 7th, 2018 at 4:19 PM ^
This goalie is obnoxious.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:19 PM ^
Generating chances again, but still can't score.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
Need Lavigne to go all Hasek on ND goalie Morris at center ice. Get him off his game.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
How has Quinton Hughes been here? Living up to the hype? Watching today's game he stands out as a skater and decision maker at least. Seems to be the most likely defenseman to fall to Detroit in the draft given the prospect rankings available now (unless we hit lottery gold, fingers crossed).
January 7th, 2018 at 4:27 PM ^
Quinn is a freshman
January 7th, 2018 at 4:26 PM ^
Our power play looking a little shaky.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:30 PM ^
Looks shaky too..
January 7th, 2018 at 4:30 PM ^
Theirs, not so much.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:29 PM ^
0-2 now. Dang.
January 7th, 2018 at 4:56 PM ^
Time for a big period boys!
Let’s Go Blue!!
January 7th, 2018 at 4:59 PM ^
The puck!!!!!!!
January 7th, 2018 at 5:08 PM ^
Goal
January 7th, 2018 at 5:09 PM ^
Baby! Norris!!
January 7th, 2018 at 5:09 PM ^
Quinn with an assist. Norris with the goal. First shot in 8 minutes
January 7th, 2018 at 5:10 PM ^
M O A R!!!
January 7th, 2018 at 5:27 PM ^
Time to slap their goalie. That was bullshit.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:27 PM ^
Agreed.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:31 PM ^
Morris just tripped our guy and nothing again
January 7th, 2018 at 5:35 PM ^
I can't believe no call on the goalie tripping our guy with the puck in the zone. Sure looked like an appropriate call.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:27 PM ^
Not to threadjack, but meanwhile on CBS, OSU continues to get to have nice things. Leading #1 MSU at the half.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:29 PM ^
They stole one from our ladies earlier. I hate seeing them win.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:30 PM ^
Quick whistle. Bs
January 7th, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
Took away a scoring opportunity.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:32 PM ^
looks like ND has a speed and talent advantage. Better days ahead.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:34 PM ^
Dang that is a really good ND team.
We got some work to do. Let’s look forward to hopefully pulling off another sweep over the Gophers next weekend. Until then, they gotta work on puck security. Too many turnovers IMO.
January 7th, 2018 at 5:42 PM ^
I don't feel overwhelmingly outplayed.
There was what felt like 5 minutes (though it was 2) where we couldn't clear the puck in the 3rd. That strecth felt like we were overmatched, but two 2-1 losses against this team, with even strength goals, feels promising.
Hail Mel.
January 7th, 2018 at 6:41 PM ^
Totally agree. I didn't feel like we were outplayed. Just they happened to win because better teams should win games.
Things are going pretty smoothly. I love Mel Pearson, it feels like he is the Beilein of hockey.
