Last two spring games cancelled were 1996 and 2003, best places to stay in Pasadena?
Thanks to Nick Baumgardner, UM to the Rose Bowl in 2019 has been confirmed. Good season boys can't wait for basketball.
Edit: thank you to everyone thinking I don't know that 1997 was the year we won it all. Here's a mathmatical proof of my theory for you fact checkers -
Season Year before rose bowl win 1996 + season year of rose bowl loss 2003 = year of rose bowl win
Of course, the CFB championship is in Santa Clara this year so adjusting for time-space clearly this formula points to a national championship.

In 1996 we went 8-4.

Yeah but leap year or something. Magic. Just believe dammit.

THIS is the kind of revisionist history I can get behind! The Rose Bowl we went to in the 1996 season is up there with when John O'Korn led us to victory against Ohio State and both years that Denard won the Heisman!
and Notre Dame in 2003. Series was on hiatus in 1996.

And speaking of good omens the last time Tristin Thompson was caught cheating on his pregnant girlfriend was 2016 so it looks to me like he Cavs are about to win the NBA title again.
And to answer your question I've always stayed at the Embassy Suite in Irvine. A bit of a drive but super nice place and close to a lot of good places to eat.
I'm all in on another Cavs championship honestly
was a funny video
Welp sounds like Vegas better increase the odds on Bron & Co. then!

1996 we went 8-4 and lost in the Outback Bowl to Alabama.
But we could run block & pass protect......
Griese's fucking pick six to Dwayne Rudd in the 4th quarter....we should've beat the Tide that day goddamnit!

after the 96 season? Always thought it was OSU. I guess I learned something new today.
April 11th, 2018 at 12:44 PM ^
I did learn in this thread that some Michigan fans actually don't remember the year of our last national title.
April 11th, 2018 at 12:48 PM ^
Well maybe I actually went to the OSU game where we clinched the B1G title and Woodson clinched the Heisman, and I'm just trying to have fun on a Wednesday?
April 11th, 2018 at 12:52 PM ^
You mean the game that happened in 1997 half a year after the 1997 spring game?
April 11th, 2018 at 12:57 PM ^
Yes, I know what year it was. Thank you.
Just think rules of progression. One year before Rose Bowl, then 2003 year of Rose Bowl (defeat, ugh I was at that game too, and yes I know technically it was 2004).
The next logical step is a championship year. I'll edit post to make it clear.
Not sure I follow the logic, but maybe its just me.
Nope it's not just you. By that logic, 1996 is the year before we go to the Rose Bowl, 2003 we go to the Rose Bowl, then in 2018 we would have gone to the Rose Bowl last year. You no make sense.
Dig up.

... I feel like we should wait on the NCAA to not punch us in the nuts and declare Shea eligible before we book our hotels and flights.

...for post title alone.

In RR’s first spring there was construction on the Big House. I believe there was a “Spring Game” that was not open to the public and held at a local high school. Maybe someone else can remember for sure?
I remember reading that Nick Sheridan was the truth.

I still have no idea how Sheridan was second string in front of Feagin and Cone. And started in front of Threet in the opener.

The Detroit Lions went 5-11 and finished last in their division.
Not that those sort of seasons from the Lions are overly unusual, of course.
April 11th, 2018 at 12:51 PM ^
The Lions are tanking for draft picks this year. #tankforMcDavid
Uh oh. The Detroit Tigers lost 109 games in 1996 and 119 games in 2003. Looks like the Tigers are in for a long losing summer of baseball of 100+ losses.
They were doing that anyway
ok then...
Season Year before rose bowl win 1996 + season year of rose bowl loss 2003 = year of rose bowl win
I'm not sure what you're saying here. We didn't win the Rose Bowl in either 2003 or '04.
I'm afraid you need to show your work on this one.
It was foretold in a different galaxy
I think the miss here is we won the Rose Bowl in 98, following the 97 season. 96 and a canceled spring and game would nothing to do with that
This wins the dumbest thread of the day award.
UM Fan from Sydney says so.
The day is still young!
Here comes the Isaac Haas STD thread
Edit: I got bored. Never mind
Okay, sure, but what was your favorite candy in 1996 and 2003?
After the 1996 season, Ohio State played Arizona State in Pasadena.
Science!
Chill
So what ur sayin it’s rose bowl or outback
Digging into those deep stats to hit people with new levels of stupid.
...the way you think!
Very good predictive analysis. I just booked my flight and hotel. The rest of you non-believers will pay a fortune for your doubt!!
