Isaac Haas may play tomorrow

It would incredibly impressive if he did play, but I don't really see how he could be anything more than a motivational piece. I can't imagine how he'd be able to shoot, FTs or otherwise as he's been practicing layups and hook shoots only, it seems like he'd only be able to rebound or dunk with his left hand, and it'd be easy for Butler to target his ride side on D or O. Still, an interesting story to follow.

Painter is skeptical. I think a better bet would be to wait it out on the bench, hope for a win, and see what he can do next week.

If all he can do is shoot one-handed, he's just going to be an emergency player anyway. But if he can get solid enough to play next week in some limited role, that could be huge for them.

This guy who played varsity qb at my high school broke and dislocated (subluxed) his elbow in the 6th game of the season. He sat out two series and went in and played the rest of the season (7 more games). He threw the ball after too. Messed up college scholarships due to needing surgery after the season. Has always said giving up college football for his team was worth it...to each his own I guess.

Ethics scenario: Haas plays tomorrow; what do you tell your players if you're Lavall Jordan? You have to tell them to absolutely attack Haas right? He's playing one armed and is their best defensive player. You gotta send everyone right at him and force him to play defense one armed.

I don't think this is an ethical issue. There is nothing wrong about trying your hardest to win within the rules. As long as they are not trying to injure him, they absolutely should test his ability to play. And if re-injury is a threat Purdue should not let him go out there.

Part of trying to win is attacking weaknesses in your opponent. I don't think anyone in these types of sports think there's anything wrong with that if the weakness is due to an injury.

Let's suppose Michigan meets Michigan State in San Antonio. It's a heated matchup, of course, with lots of hype. We desperately want to win. They desperately want to win. MSU has gone small with Jaren Jackson Jr. at the 5 for most of their regional and it's working. People look forward to a Wagner-JJJ matchup as one of the key linchpins in the game.

JJJ turns an ankle early in the first half and is out for the game. Nick Ward comes in to take his place.

Do you want Moe Wagner to see Ward, consider attacking him with another vicious behind-the-back dribble, and decide not to because it wouldn't be fair because Jackson got hurt?

No. We'd go after him. Because that's what you do.
