Harbaugh, why you so obsessed with us?
The dumbest shit I have ever read. Seriously how does someone getting paid to write look at an article like that and say “I should post this.” Purdue just wants to be relevant and by harping on us recruiting their best commit, they get a glimmer of relevance. At least when OSU and MSU chirp us it’s founded, Purdue just wants to feel included.
To "find" an article as obscure as this???
Why link something if it's a piece of garbage? All you're doing is validating their effort by providing free advertisement and site traffic.
Does the author really think we need help winning head to head recruiting battles with them?
This O.T. season is gonna be one for the ages.
(And by that I mean absolute shit)
This coming from the guy with a 364-day offseason
When the website you publish a post on could also be the name of a WWE tag team, you should probably question its legitimacy.
Delusional. No one cares about Purdue football. They should thank the heavens every day that Delaney let Rutgers in the B1G or they'd still be shittiest program in the conference.
Is the retaliatory OT Thread Snark
When you put shit on this self-absorbed board, you need to get RAILED
Fuck off Maizen
I have an operating system that gives me articles based on things that I have looked up in the past. I've looked up Harbaugh before so it sees Harbaugh in the title and says, "hey you looked up this word before you might want to look at this." I looked and laughed at the absurdity; thought others would like to point and laugh too.
Ah, so that explains all the tentacle porn articles that I keep getting?
Don't feed the trolls.
Greek Gang, I hope we land George and Yanni. You can be 40 miles from Greektown with all the yiayias and dolmades you desire, or you can be in BFE, Indiana. Your choice.
Purdon't
"Here's a terrible article. Let's make sure to reward its author with pageviews!"
That'll show em!
has turned into a dirty football program...for all the good its done..that is all
I was using a piece by this same author last week as an example of how bad SBNation's algorithmic approach to blogging has been for the industry. He got a tour of Purdue's updated facilities and wrote an article that a high school journalism student should get failed out of class for, apologetically posting all the photos sideways. 11W has almost the same level of turds writing front page stuff. They are functioning under the presumption that all pageviews are equal and the only way to get more page views is to produce more content even if the content has zero value. The long-term health of the industry requires new Outlets to build up Trust. Media doesn't change just because the medium does. It's hard to get too mad at this kid because that's all he is, someone from the message board doesn't mind working for dipshit money because his work is valueless and he knows it.
But it massively devalues Travis Miller to have that on the same place. I know who Travis is but a young Purdue fan won't associate him with the best Purdue coverage because he gets buried by 4-year-olds with barely tweet-worthy #content on his own site.
It really bothers me that this is what it came to. A few SBNation sites can support a real staff under their structure, and those editors have enough sway that they can ignore corporate's shortsighted misguided, and ultimately self-destructive pursuit of ad throughput. No reader gives a shit about those sponsors, and having to sift through headlined crap all the time is annoying. The model won't last. And there's no reason you can't have a Travis Miller blog for Purdue that can support Travis and one or two good part timers except Travis doesn't want to run the business and platform developers only think of the day's business.
mediocre programs are all the same. dont recruit any of the good atheletes in our state because we own them. dont offer the ones that have commited to us because they are ours. one guy went so far as to say the only reason michigan can out recruit purdue is because of "bag fulls of money and paying off the refs".
Smells like whiskey and feet.
I listented to your warning. Thank you.
Ha, thank you for listening. I explicitly warned everyone that it was a bad article. I debated whether or not to even include the link but I've seen many other posts get negbanged for not doing so. So, I included it. Damned if you do and damned if you don't? I don't know but some people are mad at me for their inability not to push a red button marked "do not push." Don't get mad at me because you have the restraint of a Looney Tunes character!
Proud to have never clicked on it!
I clicked on it and I have say, it was well written. It’s a fair question, why is Harbaugh so obsessed with Purdue? - said no one
