Harbaugh makes it official: All-white road uniforms, all season
This will definitely be a new look...somewhat of a throwback, no?

Here they are in use...

It won't matter when Michigan starts winning again.

the uniforms he remembered from his childhood. Michigan kicked some serious ass wearing those road whites.

but I think they will look sharp. And it's an actual throwback. Will look great when we beat Utah I'm sure!

Did I miss something? Have we ever wore "yellow" jerseys? Serious question
August 28th, 2015 at 9:14 AM ^
Only in practice or spring games

However, I wouldn't mind seeing an all maize versus all blue Spring Game just to appease folks like you. If we ever did it any other time, I'd probably lose it.

Michigan wore yellow jerseys once. November 1928 against Navy. It was the days when both teams wore the same jersey home and away, and before winged helmets. Michigan's uniform and Navy's uniform were identical. Navy refused to change so Michigan wore "maize" jerseys to tell them apart.
August 28th, 2015 at 9:25 AM ^
...talk about polar opposites. You don't like the all whites, but you're cool with the all Maize (jersey's and pants)?

Agree, would prefer this look....

To criticize the all-whites is one thing, but to add that you'd prefer all-yellow just makes me now question your fashion sense.
For basketball it works, but for football . . . no.

All good guys wear white, and the wings on our helmets is just a reminder we are divinely good!
August 28th, 2015 at 10:04 AM ^
Not all of them.
August 28th, 2015 at 11:06 AM ^
If they had the wings on the helmets it would be cooler.
August 28th, 2015 at 12:41 PM ^
Yes, that's what I am talking about.
See these are the away uniforms, now if we can only get lord vader into a Maize suit...

Depends, originally they were human clones specifically engineered to do a job, my take it is they were exceptional at their job and the reason they missed so often- they realized their boss was bad and tried to help rebels win... so good guys put in bad roles...
Now we can also point out their future work (post clone use) conflicted with modern beliefs of their nature, i.e. they tried to uphold the laws agreed upon and in doing so were trying to do right...that the laws were manipulated by an evil leader, isn't their problem!
So in effect, yes they were good guys, not as good as UM as they lack winged helmets, but def. good guys trying to do good, just happened to fail...a lot...

I'm really confused when people say the all whites look like LSU. How do these look at all alike?
I've seen this comment several times.
August 28th, 2015 at 9:00 AM ^
I'm not a big fan of the road whites (I do like that they're throwbacks and not Oregon-esque uniformz), but I am a big fan that the reason the team is wearing them is that Harbaugh likes them. And I like the idea of wearing them to Happy Valley, just to confuse their fans. (Do we do the white out this week? So confused!) And I really like the idea of having one consistent road uniform. It also doesn't hurt that Dennis Franklin wore the road whites.
But what I really like is that the AD and Adidas are not making this decision for Michigan's coach.

But for me it's because i AM a huge fan of the road whites and remember fondly watching the team actually play in them when I "came of age" as a Michigan fan. I was 15 back in 1974 so this actual, real, throwback takes me back to the days of Dennis Franklin, Ricky Leach and the rest of Bo's powerhouse teams.
August 28th, 2015 at 9:24 AM ^
Harbaugh is a couple years older than me, but this is my earliest memory of what we looked like on the road, and I'm sure Harbaugh loved it as well. Really looks good and centers attention on the helmets IMO.
August 28th, 2015 at 9:40 AM ^
And I'm a huge fan of seeing a thundering stampede of Michigan linemen and backs on a downhill run around the right end...
August 28th, 2015 at 11:20 AM ^
Also love the Dennis Franklin reference.
Given that Harbaugh and I are nearly the same age, probably not a huge surprise that road whites are cool with me.August 28th, 2015 at 9:00 AM ^
I feel like this is the position coaches thread(s) all over again. We knew it was official, then it was official, then it became officially official with the official thread.
WHOOOO HOOOOO, IT'S OFFICIAL EVERYBODY!

My exact thoughts! Why couldn't the athletic department/adidas make those jerseys happen sooner?
August 28th, 2015 at 9:35 AM ^
Couldn't agree more. I like that Harbaugh made it happen but I will really miss those maize pants. Hopefully the white pants grow on me as the season goes on (yes, there is a growing pants joke in there some where).
August 28th, 2015 at 9:56 AM ^
I think as you start to appreciate the white pants, the real risk is that the pants you're wearing will shrink on you.
(There's your growing pants joke. Yore welcome.)
