G Dan Voltz picks Badgers

Submitted by Dreisbach1817 on

We're not talking 7 v. 7.

Michigan was techincally in his top 7 but was really out of it when we didn't get a visit.  I thought he was going to the Irish.  So a bit surprised.  While Voltz was an excellent G prospect, hopefully Posada and Bryant can fill that role.  Our greater need on the line is Tackle.

Personally, I hope Posada stays a tackle. Not because he's better there, I don't think he is, but more because the depth is scary thin at tackle. Although I guess it sort of is at guard too. Damn we need some OL recruits this year.

We have to get this ship turned around quickly, because we can't allow Wisconsin to start gobbling up all the recruits compatible with our system. They seem to be getting more of a recruiting foothold than they've ever had in the past.

Yeah, when you win that's what happens. Even then Michigan will still compete with Wisconsin for instate kids like Biegel, so I'm not terribly worried about it. We still have a much better hold in Ohio and even nationally in places like California and Texas.

yeah triple A, thanks for turning it back around to the topic. You post well. Wisconsin has become a consistently strong program with hearty lines, tough and fast backs, decent quarterbacks, and respectable defenses. Not much drama there, at least the kind that sparty and hairlessnuts have brought to the BigTen. Pretty clean program, strong running attacks, almost Penn State'ish. I'll throw the good luck to Mr. Voltz, and I'll look forward to the Wolverine who pancakes him on the other side, ala Messner. (Speaking to skill, strength, technique and tenacity, rather than to position in any event.) BTW, I was in Florida on Spring Break years ago and met Mr. Messner, the I-make-a-Mandarich-pancake machine, in a trinket shop. I bought my daughter a tshirt she want, and the I immediately just walked up to MM; I started a conversation and he and I talked for around 10 minutes. I was so impressed with his humility, humor and openess, I almost forgot how much more I have always been awed by his  consistently aggressive line play. I wish we had ten of those dudes. end side note; Go Messner, Go Blue,

Let us be CLEAR about one thing.....     Wisconsin and MSU have been strong lately mainly due to Michigan abandoning the traditional offense and its type of players, especially the big OL.  If you don't agree, don't you think it is quite ironic that our three worst years in history just have happened to coincide with both Wisc/MSU best years?

Wisconsin and State have been playing MANBALL since the beginning of time.  That's what they do, that's what they've always done.

And who are all these MEN you speak of that went to Wisconsin or State that would have come to Michigan if it weren't for that evildoer Rich Rod?
