Actually infinity would be a better bet. Time only exists as a perception in the human mind in a feeble effort to make sense of something that it is incapable of defining - a universe that operates beyond the range of human comprehension. There really is no beginning or an end and for those who say the Big Bang started it all, that is nothing more than a theory that can't be proven. How convenient for the alleged "professors".

"Infinity" is a cop-out. It says, "we are small and not very smart, and therefore I'm going to bet the universe has been here forever." What we do know with a high level of certainty is that everything we have ever been able to observe has an ultimate cause, along with a beginning and an end point. Why should the universe be any different? The ultimate cause could be "God" or anything else, something that exists in a dimension we cannot perceive. Or, our "universe" may in fact be a tiny speck so small and light that we are rotating around the event horizon of a black hole in an infinitely larger universe for what, in terms of our "time" approaches infinity...
