The last one was Scott Rechsteiner who wrestled as Scott Steiner in WCW and won the world championship at one point.

I really hope his wrestling name is something Michigan-ey, like Wolverine, Bo, or Big Brother.

I went to E3 a number of years ago and Scott Steiner was there signing autographs. He had two booth babes with him who both had implants that were each the size of a school globe. You couldn't not look. What was weirder is that his arms were larger than the implants. I looked it up and people say his arms were somewhere between 21" and 24". His arms were even more unsettling. I'd seen massively large implants before, but I hadn't seen synthoid arms before. I didn't know where to look. The whole thing was very very unsettling.

His mustache also won a belt.

Pretty damn cool. Surprised WWE hasn't gone after many gymnists (probably because they are small). They have elite skillsets to do the acrobatics etc that fans like.
February 26th, 2018 at 11:52 PM ^
is in charge, that won't happen. He really doesn't give a shit about lightweight wrestler and ariel type wrestlers don't translate well in WWE for whatever reason. Vince loves humongous, beefy heavyweight guys.
February 27th, 2018 at 12:57 AM ^
They tried to make Rey Mysterio, Jr. a regular wrestler, meaning they had him wrestle with the heavyweights and not just the other undersized acrobatic wrestlers. That never worked for me because it destroyed the illusion that wrestling could be real. It's just not realistic to see a 160 pound guy beat a 300 pounder. His tricks were amazing, but he would just bounce off the bigger guys. That doesn't mean that a cruiser weight division can't work. The smaller guys don't seem larger than life from the balcony and that's what holds them back.

I went to my first WWE event (RAW) this summer and seriously was amazed how huge the dudes were. Literally had more muscle mass than NFL players.
February 27th, 2018 at 4:47 AM ^
Because they dont test for steroids.
February 27th, 2018 at 7:10 AM ^
Back in the day, acrobatic flippy guys were big stars in pro wrestling. Google Argentina Apollo and Antonino Rocca
February 27th, 2018 at 10:45 AM ^
It was a rare talent that could combine the acrobatics with the muscle mass. 2 names that instantly spring to mind for me are Superfly Snuka and the Macho Man. I suppose you would have to include Sting in that list, but he didn't do much for me. Too brooding.
February 27th, 2018 at 11:32 AM ^
When I watched wrestling back in the day, I always loved the high flyers and technical wrestlers, From Rey mysterio to Eddie Guerrero, Kurt angle dean malenko. They would always entertain me more than the heavyweights.
February 27th, 2018 at 12:34 PM ^
My favorite wrestling things were The Road Warriors entrance and the Four Horsemen's interviews. The actual wrestling was secondary for me. I watched a lot of TBS wrestling. There were more actual wrestling moves and holds. I remember Flair being lauded for working on one body part for half an hour. Watching two guys lie on the mat for 15 minutes wasn't exactly thrilling. But I did develop an appreciation for a perfectly executed arm-bar.

Emanuelle Yarbrough and Keith Hackney would like to have a word with you on what is real.

I'm surprised that WWE hasn't tried to sign more college athletes in general. See if you can't find the next Kurt Angle/Brock Lesnar out of the hundreds of college wrestlers out there.
February 27th, 2018 at 12:27 AM ^
WWE performance center for a tryout. Some are former pro and college athletes. Very few makes the cut because it's pretty damn cut throat. Athleticism is part of it but you have to have charisma and can act in different character and cutting promos.
February 27th, 2018 at 11:35 AM ^
Lesnar has no personality, him and Goldberg were terrible on the mic but were physical freaks. To me, Kurt angle was the total package. Really strong, really technical, really hilarious on the mic. His prime was when I really liked wwe
February 27th, 2018 at 8:29 AM ^
on the roster. A lot more are former football players. The easiest path is to grow up in the business. Starting at a young age is a big advantage, just like in most things, so there are a lot of 2nd and 3rd generation performers.
February 26th, 2018 at 11:48 PM ^
That's pretty cool. Good luck to him. Though the main roster doesn't seem to know how to use little flippy guys all that well, there's definitely a place for guys with that type of athleticism in NXT and abroad with Lucha Underground/NJPW/PWG.

Based on his ability to pick up blocking assignments I can’t see how he could remember choreography or improvise.

I haven't watched wrestling since the original Wrestlemania, but create a character like Black Panther for him and its marketing gold.
