Oklahoma is a shitshow and Nebraska seems like a huge 'meh' to me.
That being said I had heard that if he doesn't choose Michigan it will be because of location and proximity to home. So we shall see.

Also liking that Texas is not included. Not only because of the Herman factor and proximity to home (as others have stated, Norman is just as close), but UT is a much better academic school than OU and compares well to UM in that regard. Just one more reason to choose the good guys...

So, there's a chance? /s

This is really good news considering we thought the in state Texas schools were our competition

Both are a lot shorter than the drive to Ann Arbor.
I'm just saying.
December 22nd, 2016 at 9:34 AM ^
but it's probably a 2 1/2 hour flight up to Detroit, so your travel time is not that much more to see your son play.
December 22nd, 2016 at 9:50 AM ^
Every time you fly anywhere there is a 3 hour overhead added to your flight time. Plus the cost of flying.
Let's just hope this is not a location-based decision. We won't win that one.
December 22nd, 2016 at 12:14 PM ^
Not to mention that a lot of people dislike flying and even more dislike spending time in airports (hand raised and I've flown alot). But he's not going to let that get in the way of this important life decision (fingers crossed).

you get that free groping thing, so that's a plus...

I assume you mean a better football program than Texas. Your statement is a little vague and Im guessing thats why you got the negs.

You 'kiddin Clark? -1 either way.
December 22nd, 2016 at 9:39 AM ^
Or phrasing maybe? I believe he meant Oklahoma is a better program than Texas. Not UM.

I think your statement was quite clear

He's from California.

I like how he's looking up at the UM logo. Go Blue. Will be a critical piece to this class.

don't know if it is by design, but if I had to guess where he is going based simply on viewing that I would guess Michigan. It is unquestionably the most prominently featured logo on there.

At the Army Bowl?

His recruit profile says that he is announcing on NBC so I'm assuming that is during the game.

Don't make me post this again

I have to think that this is good news with no Texas schools in there.
But both Oklahoma and Nebraska are closer than we are.
Fingers crossed on this one. I think we really need this kid.

I don't know about that. Wilson is a behemoth. At the same time, you play who you have, and I would love to have Filiaga in the fold. Also, he probably could compete for a starting spot more quickly than Wilson could.

Wilson 6'7" 345
Filiaga 6'6" 335

Ive liked Filiaga all along over Wilson despite their rankings because I can see Filiaga on the two deep as a freshmen and Wilson will need a couple years before hes ready. We already have two real good developmental tackles in the class with Stueber and Honigford both of which I think will be great players as upperclassmen. And dont sleep on JaRaymond Hall.

On one hand, he seems like a great kid and a great fit into the program. Michigan would be lucky to get him on the team (and if academics matter, this competition is not very close at all).
On the other hand, his surname sounds like a fancy restaurant from which I cannot secure a reservation. "EM, did you get us that reservation to Filiaga for Valentine's Day?"

'everyone murders, a party of 4!'
that might be the bigger problem with you getting a seat at chez filiaga.

Norman and Lincoln cannot hold a candle to Ann Arbor.
December 22nd, 2016 at 9:34 AM ^
Ive driven through both states on multiple occasions and have never seen a reason to stop besides gas and toilets. Oklahoma in particular is an ugly state. At least Nebraska has the Platte river with the Sand Hills and Ogalala which has a very fun drinking establishment and is fun to say.
