Down goes OSU

This certainly made me get over the loss to Purdue easier. Always great to see Ohio State lose in such heartbreaking fashion. They lost to Penn State of all teams

Who guessed that OSU basketball wouldn't lose a B1G game until late January? Weren't these dudes pegged to not make the tourney this year?

Crazy coaching job by Holtmann in his first year.

Harder nonconference schedule.  Have yet to play Purdue at all (who will destroy you), don't have to go to East Lansing, have yet to come to Ann Arbor, don't go to Lincoln (where Nebraska is much tougher), don't go to Maryland.  Pretty much all the tough teams you've gotten at home, and you were finally exposed tonight.

OSU will play Purdue just as tight as Michigan did. SInce when does being 9-1 in the B1G mean you got exposed? You're just a pissed off Michigan fan lol Penn State shot 80 percent from 3 and won on a 35 foot bank shot at the buzzer while OSU played half of the second half without their two best players due to fouls. Penn State earned that win and shot the lights out but to say OSU was exposed just makes you sound stupid.

OSU is not better than Purdue, they have about a 10 percent chance to win at Purdue. Is it tough to be a rational MIchigan fan? That is an honest question. The people on this site are insufferable

Yeah! It’s like I can’t even go onto a rival’s message board and brag about how good my team is after a home loss to PSU and have all of them agree with me and treat me nicely. Weird

Did you pick the most outlier strength of schedule rankings you could find? I'm looking at OSU 24th and Michigan at 28. I'm sure our ( ours as in Michigan fans... not yours as in your OSU buckeyes) non-conference schedule  was a lot weaker than OSU's. It doesn't change the fact OSU has had an easier conference schedule. As for the 3 teams..... Pudue, Michigan and take your pick for the third but, maybe @ Penn State.

Rankings came from CBS Sports. Michigan has played Purdue and MSU. OSU has played MSU and plays at Purdue in two weeks and later on at Michigan. Michigan has one remaining tough game (OSU). OSU still has to go to Purdue and Michigan. Conference SOS seems awfully even to me.

Wrong.

Considering the top half of the Big Ten...

Hard games for Michigan that OSU does not play:

  • vs. Purdue (OSU only plays Purdue once)
  • @Maryland (OSU only plays Terps once, at home)

Hard games for OSU that Michigan does not play:

  • @Indiana

Additionally:

  • Both Michigan and Ohio State only play MSU and Nebraska once.
  • Michigan played both on the road.
  • Ohio State played both at home.

Michigan has a significantly harder Big Ten schedule.

You have yet to play your tough games in conference. I don't think we can be any clearer. Your squad is much better than expected and definitely in the top tier of the conference, but you are not going to win the B1G. If you think you are, you are dumb, end of story.

It actually makes it worse. We played Purdue to a draw in both games and got screwed by the refs twice. We should be in the race for the title, but we aren’t anymore.

No shame in losing to them - agreed. Shame on the refs, they called tick tack fouls on us and gave Purdue at least a few generous no calls, further they took away two MAAR FTs on what they called a floor foul rather than a shooting foul. It’s the cumulative impact that ultimately changed the outcome of the game. We had little margin for error and the refs shifted it enough.
