And they have a special piece on "the hit"

Consider me not surprised that Devin Gardner threw himself in front of the camera for the segment. What a great ambassador for the program

Looking at it again it looks like textbook targetting. Surprised they didn't bring this up.

We need our own version of that today courtesy of one Maurice Hurst.

umbig11 just posted in the game preview comments that Dan Enos has accepted a position on the staff. He has until Jan 12 to back out.

Any word on what uniforms we'll be wearing? Would love to see the all maize again countering the all black of South Carolina. That would be cool.

I think there is some indication that they'll be in away-white jerseys.

Does Michigan ever wear the home blues for a bowl game? I'm trying to recall when I last saw that. It seems they always wear the away whites. Is that Michigan's choice to do so?

It seems like we never wear our home jerseys. I think the last time was the 2011 gator bowl against miss st and then 2005 and 2007 rose bowls.
And no I don't think it's Michigans choice. Most bowl games alternate each year on which conference is the designated home team. We just happen to usually go in bowl games where we are the "away" team those years...

I kind of like how we wear our whites for bowl games. It’s kind of become a tradition.
Also, it makes sense, we aren’t playing at home, so we shouldn’t wear our home jerseys.

Both teams should wear white?

Who cares about the other team?

White jerseys, probably white pants but could be maize. Per the official Twitter.

on here since the terrific "holding call" diary was posted above here the other day. But Mark Richt's sideline blowup the other night at the Orange Bowl while his Miami team was getting beat by Wisconsin has failed to generate much reaction here, considering the reason behind his blowup, over the contention that the Badgers were regularly holding his DLine and not getting called.
The fact that he likely faces a major fine over his behavior which included bumping an official who flagged him for his reaction setting up a first-and-goal situation for the Badgers just before halftime, only underlines to me the actual evidence found in the diary indicating that teams with great defense are not getting bolding calls for whatever reason. And Michigan regulary gets screwed in this regard.
Clearly, coaches are paying attention to this stat. During the game, Wisconsin did get called for an obvious first half hold after it appeared that the defender who was choke-held on the play was actually offside before the snap.
Suddenly, coming out of a timeout with the Badgers driving late in the first half, ESPN cameras caught Richt going nuts and chasing the white hat with some hot comments about the lack of holding calls. Imagine if Harbaugh had done that?

I don't know what the story is on pass pro (seems to be consistently inconsistent) but B1G officials appear to only consider calling holding on run plays when a force player is held- nothing away from the ball, no matter how egregious, is ever called. It seems to be a point of emphasis.

I am glad Wiscy won that game but Miami got screwed many times in holding calls. I cannot remember how many times i saw the OL holding. Richt is a pretty calm guy so for him to blow up like that it was huge. Not right by any means but i was glad someone other than our coach did it on national tv. These refs need to be held accountable somehow.

then our O line needs to start holding.
January 1st, 2018 at 11:15 AM ^
we still get called

Lets go maize and do what we did to a SEC team the last time we wore them
January 1st, 2018 at 11:13 AM ^
Any word so far on the B1G being 7-0 looking to make it 8-0?
We all know if that was the SEC it would be flashed non-stop on the news ticker at the bottom.

show anything about football on college gameday anymore?
January 1st, 2018 at 12:12 PM ^
All New Year's 6 bowls should be the only games today. But ESPN would never do that because it would mean overlapping game times. But it would be awesome.

Auburn is going to truck UCF. Not happening yet though.
