CFP Poll By The Numbers

Submitted by SpaceDad on

With the CFP Poll coming out after next week's games, consider these numbers.

12 - In the short three-year history of the CFP Poll, Michigan has been in 12 total polls out of 19. This ties the Wolverines for 13th most appearances with Mississippi and Oklahoma State after being shut out of the poll in the first season.

7 - Michigan has spent seven weeks in the Top 10, which is the 10th most, tied with Oregon and Mississippi State.

4 - Michigan has spent four weeks in the Top 4. Only six other teams have more.

2 - Michigan has been in every CFP Poll for the past two seasons. Only seven other teams can make that claim. A win over Rutgers is significant in that it should keep that streak alive.

None of that matters except the top 4 at the end of the year. (Yes, I understand you have to be ranked highly to get there.) These numbers are just that.

Wish the cfp didn't release until the end like march madness does. There is still so many frauds out there. In 3 weeks we will be 8-2 just like pretty much every other team who is currently ranked ahead of us. Speaking of frauds.... Notre Dame fans are so annoying right now I can barely stand it. These frickin ND fans act like they are gonna challenge Bama.

You need to see the bright side in this - maybe we'll get the chance to see ND challenge Bama?  Now that would be some football I'd watch - a ND ass-rape on live national TV!!  That's gotta be worth a season of crowing from ND fans, right?

At this same point last year, there were 10 teams in the AP Top 25 with two losses, so I actually agree that it will be interesting, especially since three week later in last year's polls, there were nine teams with two losses and five teams with three losses still ranked in that poll. Actually, one of the two-loss teams at that point was #6, and that was Wisconsin.

Separate note.. can anyone tell me where we would have been ranked last year if Brandon Peters had started? And this year, would the streak for sure stay alive?? S
