I love it. His choice of a turkey sandwich is absolutely intentional. He is looking for the perfect combination of protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins along with flavor and enjoyment and tryptophan. Every move is calculated.

the Thanksgiving route with a cranberry compote and some provolone, perhaps melted on zucchini bread; or the traditional slightly toasted white bread, lettuce, tomato, mustard on one slice, NATO on the other.

Beilein.. he's such a class act and he can outscheme anybody. His competitiveness and drive is sometimes overlooked I feel.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he's breaking down film of the Florida St / Gonzaga game tonight. I'm sure he'll have a solid game plan no matter who we play on Saturday.

and his ego isn't such that it would ever get in the way of the business of planning, preparing, and teaching.  It's about those kids and the team, never himself.  You have to be able to see and address your weaknesses and admit to yourself the other guy is good at something, maybe better than you, in order to be able to see it clearly and prepare for it.  After the Purdue game, he said their prep for Haas was along the lines of, they knew he'd get his, so they focused on what they knew they had the ability to take away or limit.

Someday, someone will post a photo of Beilein having a glass of 18 y.o. single-malt scotch, neat, at a bar in Ann Arbor and the internet will explode.
