Beilein reached 100 B1G wins this week

Give it up for @JohnBeilein
With 75-68 win at Iowa last night, Beilein became the second coach to amass 100 #B1G wins at U-M.

I know a couple of WVU grads. They've hated RR's guts since he left them and have always talked about what a terrible person he is. (I used to chalk that up to sour grapes; not sure now.) They've never had a bad thing to say about Beilein, though - they still remember him fondly.

He's the best all around coach in college basketball.

And almost 800 career wins, if we count all levels of basketball he's coached (Juco, D-III, D-II, D-I). Coach B will end up in the Hall of Fame when all's said and done.

I think he deserves it, but the voting for the Naismith HOF (which includes all levels of basketball) has recently tended to only elect coaches who have won a national championship. Coaches like Bob Huggins and Eddie Sutton have not gotten in either with that hole in their resume

Well, he sort of did it, reaching the championship in 2013 against a team that ended up vacating. If Trey could have just gotten a fair whistle that night...
If we can make it back to the Final Four under his watch (I wouldn't rule that out given his tourney history), I think he can make the Hall.

This is a good perspective. Orr was a great. But didn’t have a lot of luck in the Tournament. Where JB has excelled is the post season.

Respect is earned...and JB certainly has earned mine.

John Beilein is going to be a difficult act to follow when he retires, but I think that's kind of what you want for your program in a way because that merely confirms that it was left in a far better state than when the previous coach arrived, and indeed, John Beilein - when he retires - will have done exactly that.

Looking again at the standings...
How did Bill Perigo keep his job that long with that awful Big Ten record (38-78)? And why didn't George Veenker (24-10) and Ozzie Cowles (16-8) stick around longer?
I also had no idea Bennie Oosterbaan used to coach basketball.

The Veenker departure makes some sense, then. But Minnesota raided us for our basketball coach? Ouch.

One of my first comments almost exactly a year ago was stupid me complaining about him, and over the last year fate has directed me to understand that I should never underappreciate the security of the program that John Beilein has given us.
Congrats to coach JB and a well deserved milestone!
