#5 Michigan W Gymnastics beats Ohio State at Crisler

You heard about how the other two tenants of Crisler Center did today.

Men's Basketball beating #4 MSU and #23 Women's Basketball pulling out a miracle win at Nebraska.

The other tenant also had a competition today. While almost all Michigan teams were on the road today, the #5 ranked Michigan women took on Ohio State in a 6pm meet at Crisler Center.

The atmosphere was pretty jovial given the MBB game result and the opening of the New U-M Indoor Track Building earlier today.

Michigan dominated this one from start to finish.

The Wolverines beat OSU, 197.550-194.925. Michigan took-

  • The team score as mentioned
  • Michigan beat OSU in all 4 events as a team
  • Wolverines won all 4 event titles including the all-around title

Michigan posted the highest score in the nation so far this season. All-out consistency. 9.8s seemed to be the team's floor tonight which is one heck of a floor to have.

The high point of the night was Emma McLean's floor routine which scored the highest of the night at 9.975. One judge gave her a 10 but the other shyed away and gave her a 9.50.

It's early but Michigan opened the season last week with a win over #4 Alabama and now just posted the nation's highest score. Very promising.

Michigan is now 2-0 on the season, 1-0 in the B1G. In the last 52 meetings against OSU, Michigan has won 50 of them.
