7-24-12: Michigan picks up Ross Douglas. Michigan State picks up Devyn Salmon.

7-25-12: Keelon Brookins decommits from Minnesota. Wisconsin picks up Keelon Brookins.

You left off one of Penn State's recruits.  Brennan Franklin is an NR LB from Arizona who committed right after the sanctions were announced.  He also had interest, but no offers from powerhouses like Toledo, Washington, and Colorado.

I would argue that Penn State has Northwestern beaten by a large margin.  Despite the 3 less recruits their star average is 0.74 above northwestern.

Your Hello posts have improved over time and I enjoy reading the same. Much prefer fact over conjecture.   Hope you can post one soon.

Hoke's winning the Ohio recruiting battle big time. Not too long ago it wasn't even a battle, now we're winning Michigan, and Ohio, and doing really well in Illinois, too.

Ace,

I aoppreciate all your work, but the numbers are not accurate. Rivals has OSU listed with a 3.83 avg star rating. Your numbers show 3.69.  I realize you need to make Michigan's Avg/avg come out on top to justify your work, but I am calling bullshit on you.

I went back and checked the rivals site again. They have the same rating for Michigan as Ace. 3.57, is that a coincidense? I stick to my original statement. Bullshit, its fairly simple stuff. If you are going to copy a recruiting service, then do it accurately, its fairly simple stuff.

I hope the IRS doesn't check your tax return.

Regardless if you disagree with the inputs, Ace still applies the numbers and the math universally across every team.  But you can keep on being a dick calling BS on him if you want...it'll certainly ingratiate you to the blog.

Michigan's numbers match because they don't have any unranked recruits. OSU's don't because they do. Rivals doesn't count unranked recruits at all in their averages. If you think that's more accurate, fine. You'd be wrong, but that's fine. Anyhow, Ace explains how he calculates the averages and he did it the same way when Michigan had unranked recruits.

Rivals rankings methodology—helpfully linked directly from the team rankings page—is not the same as my methodology, which counts all commits and does not add extra weight to Rivals250 recruits.

Have a wonderful day.

You could save yourself a lot of time and inaccuracy by just copying 247's composite ratings. They give equal weight to all the recruiting services you list. Why would you list a recruiting site, then not use their rating? If you want to use your own rating system then just label it Ace's rating, it's fairly simple.

Ace, if this is the same bucndc who recently appeared on our boards at 11w, please pay him no regard, as he is nothing but a troll, and a poor one at that.

He's already made his presence distastefully known on the OSU site by attempting to troll some of the board's more respected members, and if he is indeed a buckeye fan, I apologize on behalf of the fanbase.

Can't say the same about OSU, but I think USC makes a lot of unrealistic promises to recruits with regards to playing time and expectations.  Many guys who would be starters at many other universities are being sold a load of BS and promises and get there, figuring they'd get a chance to play for a National Championship, but to find out too late that they get to watch an NC being won from the bench.
