These types of losses can tear a team apart or bring them closer together. Harbaugh will make sure this turns us into a better team. Gotta feel for the punter though. Keep your head up Mate!

I was at the Colorado game.  I was a freshman in high school at the time.  My parents had an extra ticket so I invited my good friend who hapenned to be a Colorado fan.  That game hurt.  This is so much worse.  Not only is this a rivalry, but they didn't have to make a great play to get the win, this was handed to them.  I'm hurting just as much as the other fans, but I feel so terrible for those kids.  Being mad at a snapper or a punter is ridiculous.  Every single one of the kids on our team worked their asses off and I'm proud to be a fan.

Maybe we would have been better off throwing all the defenders at Rudock and hoping for infinite targetting calls.

I'm absolutely convinced Michigan Football does not want me to be happy. It does not want me to be content. It does not want me to be comfortable.

Let's start a fucking support group. This is not a sustainable or healthy relationship.

Is a fish. It's spine flakes under pressure. A punter is slang for drunkard. And apparently a punter can get as intoxicated off 80 yards as 80 proof.

At this moment, I want to go out and fillet a snapper, then imprison a punter. Instead I may just buy free clothes for the worst homeless dregs that state "At Least I'm Not ___________." Decision on Monday after I recover from the hangover. I'm going full 80 proof and then kicking something for 80 yards to test my newest theory.

There is much more to hope for than next year.

For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.  Romans 3:22b-25

He's waiting for you.

This sucks, but we didn't expect to win this game to begin with. But let's look at this logically, a first year coach using another coach's recruits, loses a rivalry game on a fluke play.

I was pissed for 5 minutes, but I'm over it and here is why:

Tell me one person that doesn't believe we are going to continue to get better year after year. We all know we are finally headed in the right direction after 7 years of internal miss-function. Yes we should have won and yes that play was an incredible fluke, but that doesn't change Michigan's future. It won't be long and these games will no longer come down to one or two plays. We are going to get better and better. Take a deep breath, get through the week and remind yourself what the future looks like. As painful as this loss is, it's a brief point in time.

they had a negative play.

He was terrible all game long under pressure, terrific when he could sit in an easy chair and pick his receiver.

Yup, O'Neil fumbed the snap, we lost the game, direct line, cause and effect.  The slightly less direct line, but I think a more important one, the one that is the difference between 7-0 and 5-2, is Rudock.  We have a QB who isn't even average and it's hard to win with that.  You only get so many wide open throws for touchdowns in a game and Rudock misses them all, always.  Not to mention the rest of what he doesn't do that well.  Damn, if we could just have an OK QB in there.  How can it be that noone we recruited is any good?

Had we won, it would have been one of those wins that you just sort of see the "W", plug your ears and say "lalalalalala".  It wasn't going to feel like a great "W", but wow does this "L" feel like a punch in the nuts.

Not so much for us, but for State.

This was a pivotal game.  One that either heralded the return of the "natural order", or legitimized a new power in the Big Ten.

This final play will be remembered forever, but more damning is the momentum this win provides the Spartan program.  It doesn't matter that this game was ugly, or that MSU got lucky at the end.  All the matters is they got the W in one of the biggest stages imaginable against our new program-defining coach.

What I fear most is not just this loss for the season, not even the way it ended and the fact that it will be remembered forever.  What I fear most is new universe where MSU has risen to equal status with Michigan in terms of power in the Big Ten.  Every recruit that we lose to MSU now hurts twice.  Once because they get him, and again because we don't.

This sucks.

We are rapidly ascending and I have no worries. Yeah this was a crappy way to lose a game, but we will be dominant next year. Look, we are still kicking ass this year. The future is incredibly bright and Staee is now enjoying the last win they will ever have against Harbaugh and they needed a freak accident and help from the refs to do it. We move on.

State is a good team but not an exceptional one. They were a lucky team this evening but they're no where close to being a national championship caliber team. In a few years we will be a much better team than State!

Many recruits will see what happens through the season and not just one game!

If you have not noticed, this was already the case.  If anything, this  game showed that era is coming to the end.

MSU has been architected for a decade to be what it is.  Harbaugh put Michigan on equal footing in 8 months, without his own players.

Too many penalties allowed MSU to hang around. Getting burned on their long TD allowed MSU to hang around. UM didn't or couldn't put this game away when they had chances and let momentum swing too many times. Nobody could have predicted that end but damn at least get 3 yards at the end and put that fucker away.

At least they get a week off. They'll probably need it, I know I will.

That was horrible. It's over, time to move on. Big picture, even with a seat warmer QB Michigan is much further along under Harbaugh than most of us thought they would be at this point. There was just one death in my house and that was an inanimate object and a new remote will be on the way from amazon.

My email is already loaded with Spartys rubbing it in.  I am hitting delete, going to work on Monday (just like our team will be doing) and taking the punishment like a man as much as it sucks.

Keep it classy. Congratulate your Spartan acquaintances on a hard-fought win and say you look forward to playing them again next year. My brother's a huge Spartan fan; after the game, I texted him to say congrats. My supervisor is a Spartan alum; when we have our weekly meeting on Monday morning, I will congratulate her, too.
