We had an official MGoPumpking carving contest, with the Residence Inn Ann Arbor Downtown offering a $200 award towards a stay there. I picked the winners last week but forgot to post the announcement. The victor is Noah Neidlinger, aka Candor for Sale, and not just because his perfect Harbaugh picked up some accidental devil horns.

Hit THE JUMP for the runners up.

Both runners up were wolverines. Outwest was in second because wolverbear, and thisguyswife was third with a more anatomically correct wolverine:

Also outwest sent in this shot of his pre-carved pumpkins:

Brett got all the MVictors votes with his Jugkin.

Idea: A+. Execution: meh. Hey I get the limitations of us normal carving people when it comes to legible scores. But show us the Minnesota side, and have the new score section on the Michigan side and stuff. Still: love the idea.

John Zainea knows how to get right to my heart:

I draw the X's and O's diagrams on PowerPoint but maybe I'll have John use his program from now on. Zainea: can you carve up a 1st period play from the Rutgers game where Michigan used pattern matching to get the right matchups on Janarion Grant when he went in motion?

The "horned Harbaugh" was an artistic gamble, but I'm glad it paid off! (Seriously, didn't even see horns until after Seth's comment.)

Thanks to mgoblog for giving myself and others the opportunity to display our Michigan fandom in pumpkin form. Well done everyone! Go Blue!
